What are Veneers?
Veneers are thin porcelain laminates that are bonded to the prepared surfaces of your teeth. If you are unhappy or dissatisfied with the shape, color or position of your teeth porcelain veneers may be a great option for you.
Veneers vs Crowns
Unlike Dental crowns, veneers are a very conservative way to beautify your smile. With dental crowns, the entire surface of the tooth is reduced and the crown then covers then entire tooth, usually down to the gum line. Veneers cover just the surface of the tooth that can be seen along with the biting edge surface. Veneers are a way to, in just two visits, straighten, whiten and completely change your smile. We often refer to veneers as instant orthodontics. Some patients grind their teeth and cause excessive amounts of wear to their teeth. These patients may not be great candidates for veneers and crowns may be a better option for them. The average patient can plan on their veneers lasting between ten and fifteen years.
Improve your Smile Overnight
Patients that have always been afraid to smile or were ashamed of their smile have experienced an overnight change in their confidence by having porcelain veneers placed on their teeth. This procedure requires reducing a small amount of the outer tooth structure, taking an impression of the prepared teeth, placing temporary veneers and then returning for a short visit to place the veneers permanently in place. We can do a thorough assessment of your teeth to help you decide if veneers are a good option for beautifying your smile.
